  • I love this school I think the teachers and most of the staff truly care for the kids(at least from my point of view) my kids have progressed in subjects that they've struggled before. It's not perfect but for a public school I think it's great!

This is the ONLY school in St. Cloud that will not let the children wear the "St. Cloud" football/ cheerleading jerseys or uniforms on game day to represent their city... This is also the only school that does not work with you on releasing the children to car riders when the weather is extremely bad, they will instead....waiting till the very last minute or a couple minutes later regardless of storms to dismiss any children. None of the employees working in the dismissal for car riders are friendly to you or your child. Another complaint about the school is that when you call the front desk not only do they sound irritated to be answering the phone, but will speak to you very unprofessionally and rush you off as if no matter what you're talking about is of any importance to them. My child last year was also pushed down to the ground in the classroom by another child, and when I had asked my child what the disciplinary action was he said that he told the teacher and the teacher told him quit being a baby you're fine.....! Mind you my son had had road rash from a scooter accident two days before where the child had grabbed him and pushed him down to the floor. When I had a conference regarding the situation with the teacher the only thing that he said was that he didn't mean to dismiss him but he didn't feel like it was a big enough deal to listen to him!!! This teacher retired this current year... Thank goodness! My last complaint regarding the school is that my son came home singing and dancing to a ghetto song called the "whip and the Nay nay" Even if this song does not have profanity in it the whole demeanor and music is not what I agree for my child to listen to nor dance to. When I called the school and told them I was uncomfortable with the PE coach teaching every single grade and class how to do this dance and how to sing the "whip and nay nay" The front desk's response was we see nothing wrong with it so we're not going to stop. So they just disregard what the parent feels because they think it's cool. I don't agree with the Hood music and ghetto dancing for my child.... I've spoken to a few parents who think that it's fine but more so parents that do not agree with the situation.. Regardless of their opinion they need to value the parents opinion on any demeanor or music or movies that the child is exposed to and that's no matter where you are! Why wouldn't the school be teaching proper etiquette for children to learn. Like opening doors for other people. Young men pulling their pants up. Young ladies acting like girls and sitting properly. I think we could focus more on that instead of whip and nay nay....
